Wedding at the Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, New York City
When my (now) sister-in-law called me and said "HELP! I can't find any photographer that I like more than you!" of course I responded with "I'll do it!"
I first met Aaron when he came to California on a business trip (he works for the Orchard in NYC). He is the older brother of my husband. I met Samantha shortly after when we celebrated our first NYE as a married couple in Chapel Hill, NC. The first time I met her I fell in love with her. Samantha has an old Hollywood style beauty, with eyes like Bette Davis. She is also a fellow Cali girl so that made me love her even more.
They got engaged on Christmas Eve in Wilmington, NC. The whole family flew out, including us, to celebrate this amazing moment!
Now all of live in NYC! The greatest city on EARTH!
Arron and Samantha got ready at the Nolitan Hotel in SoHo. This hotel is seriously so cool, and had the most amazing rooftop overlooking our beautiful city. That is where we decided to do the first look. The bride wore a two piece BHLDN wedding dress. Their ceremony and reception was at the Housing Works Bookstore in SoHo as well. This venue is literally incredible. It is so intimate, and who wouldn't want to get married surrounded by the greatest love stories of all time?
The food was probably the best wedding food I have ever had, from the cocktail hour to the cupcakes. All so delicious.
As someone living in New York City, we infinite supply of really cool wedding venues. I always love when couples decide to think outside the box and turn an everyday space in to an incredible wedding venue. Opting to hold their ceremony at The Housing Works Bookstore not only benefits a great cause, but it is also super unique. So if you are searching for a venue right now in your wedding planning process, I urge you to think out side the box. Explore spaces that are unique, interesting, and not wedding like at all. Sometimes the things that seem drab from the outside hold hidden gems within.
Welcome to the family Samantha, I can't wait to grow old with you.
Till next time.
Fall in love with as many things as possible.
